One of my extension leads blew a few weeks back. I didn't hear anything, just went in one day and saw that the two chargers hooked up to the Panzers were off and then noticed that the switch had blown out of the surge protected extension lead.
See, even extension leads hate BMW’s

Well it must have been faulty...average small charger uses less than an amp ( esp in maintenance mode ), so it was eith a lead not fit for purpose ( which I doubt knowing you ) or a fault developed

Not a bad price although I got it cheaper elsewhere...they are now out of stock.

That reminds me of a Jaws quote a few years ago.

Someone pointed out that something for the 'bird could be found elsewhere cheaper, but unfortunately he could not buy from the other source as they were out of stock.

Jaws explained that when he was out stock he'd match their price

I think you misunderstand - I got it cheaper (significantly cheaper) elsewhere but that source is now out of stock.

The Halfords price looks reasonably competitive compared to what I found when I was looking.

If I have misunderstood what you are saying my humble apologies.

Went for a Covid test as I woke up feeling shit and with 2 of the symptoms (temperature and loss of taste). Now waiting for the results....deep joy.

It's OK, I knew what you meant.

It's just it really did remind me of the Jaws response, it tickled me at the time and your post brought back the happy grin.

I really have no idea but it’s worked fine for the past ten years with no drama, so I guess it must’ve developed a fault.

Well I paid £62.45 and then got a nice £8 refund from the seller.

Ya boo sucks.
As long it involves buying somewhere other than Halfrauds and it’s cheaper than them, happy days.

It is a little known fact by Joe Public but if you are using an extension lead and it is a coiled variety, then it should be fully uncoiled off the drum before use.
Without too much detail, the coiled wire has a 'funny' affect on the electrickery causing overloading of the lead.
