School joke.
What's the difference between a prince and an orphan.
One is an heir apparent, the other has nera parent.

Not sure of spelling nera.
It was a regular word where I came from.
"Have a loan of a bob"
"I have nera one at all"

Been to the Doctor’s today, got good news, they can remove the mole from my knob, bad news, I’ve been reported to the RSPCA.

He was a playwright in Dublin who never minced his words. Drank himself to death. Very sad.

A story evolved about a guy begging in Dublin. A man he asked for money said "never a lender or borrower be" Shakespeare.
The beggar replied "F#€k off" Behan

He told this one himself.
He was a painter and was painting for Irish Lights who managed lighthouses. He was up North painting.
There was a warning sign at the way into the lighthouse which he changed the By Order of to By Order of Eamon deValera, who was Taoiseach and went off on his dinner break.
Some local saw it and all hello broke loose. But before anybody official got there he had fixed the sign to the correct name. Not sure if it I'd true but it wouldn't surprise me.
