Waited for the vet to come & swab the horses before they go to stud, vet due at 14.15, 14.45 rang to say I’ll be 45 minutes, 55 minutes later she turned up, no apologies or explanation as to why she was late, obviously doesn’t realise we have been valued customers for many years, we’ll let it go this time but she will need to up her game.

I've gone away from heated grips. When riding the bike in N.Wales winter temperatures my palms would be warm but the back of my hands would be painfully cold. For the price of heated grips I got some heated gloves... wow. The difference was night and day, lovely warm hands and still comfortable to wear.

I found heated grips only effective used in conjunction with bar muffs, rode through many winters that way without problems but didn't know heated gloves had become that cheap (y)

I found out by chance that heated grips are more effective in winter if you dont wear 'winter' gloves.gloves.

An intermediate glove lets more heat through and that more than makes up for not having winter gloves on.

Obvious when you think about it.

Best of both worlds for me was the 'lobster claw' mittens, good insulation on top and thin palms so you get the warmth of the grips. Completely useless in an off though.

All,of the above in the context of I never really got cold on the bike, regardless of the weather. Same as cycling - warm feet, hands and ears and the rest looks after itself.

I agree with the lobster claw gloves. I've ridden in some very cold temperatures and had no complaints with this combo.

mopped up the rain from the windowsill in my bathroom as I had left the window open to get rid of paint smell and it chucked it down

I had heated grips and a pair of muffs on my bandit 1250. I found the heated grips weren’t needed with the muffs.

I half way agree with you on that I would use my heated grips maybe 3 times over a winter & then only on longer rides in seriously cold weather, hot for a start then down to minimum setting ……………. my biggest problem as always keeping my feet warm

Went to look at a car for eldest daughter, 65 plate Nissan juke, nice car, certainly better than the wreck of a pug 2008 that she currently drives, she’s picking juke up on friday.

Well I was gonna fit the engine in but discovered as well as smashing the cooling cowl off ( which I bodged a replacement for out of sheet ally ) they have also smashed off the exhaust mounting points

Popped round the back to the factories and scounged up some 3mm mild steel plate..

Am currently making new mounting points that will bolt to the engine... Gonna take a couple of hours at least so engine fitting will not happen today !

Woke up with a horrendous headache. Walked the dog, in the rain, that didn’t help it. Went in the front room and had a sleep, still no better. Took a naproxen, that’s done it.
