No wiring, just a small battery in each glove. On full (I had them on the lowest of 3 settings) you get 2 to 3 hours, but they were just too hot on full. Was the wiring not a pain in the arse?
I've gone away from heated grips. When riding the bike in N.Wales winter temperatures my palms would be warm but the back of my hands would be painfully cold. For the price of heated grips I got some heated gloves... wow. The difference was night and day, lovely warm hands and still comfortable to wear.
I found out by chance that heated grips are more effective in winter if you dont wear 'winter' gloves.gloves.
An intermediate glove lets more heat through and that more than makes up for not having winter gloves on.
Obvious when you think about it.
Best of both worlds for me was the 'lobster claw' mittens, good insulation on top and thin palms so you get the warmth of the grips. Completely useless in an off though.
All,of the above in the context of I never really got cold on the bike, regardless of the weather. Same as cycling - warm feet, hands and ears and the rest looks after itself.
I had heated grips and a pair of muffs on my bandit 1250. I found the heated grips weren’t needed with the muffs.
