I had Porridge for my brekky, Bev has seen me make it hundreds of times, she came down & said “I think I’ll have porridge” she came in the room with a bowl of porridge & started eating it, after a few spoons she said, “I can’t eat this it’s like wallpaper paste” I asked if she’d put honey on it, she hadn’t I asked if shed done it on a low heat, she looked at me mouth agape “you never said to heat it” she had just put the oats in a bowl & mixed cold water in. much to Bev’s displeasure I am still laughing.

As a kid I used to eat porridge oats with sugar but no milk. Meusli 1950s style:)
Not for breakfast just at odd times, probably to keep my quiet.

I love porridge but I switched to overnight oats a few months back. A minor faff to prepare but I love it!

I eat muesli for breakfast, but in the depths of the winter I will often put it in the microwave and it goes a bit porridgey, it’s quite nice-ish

I did an outward bound course at Applecross when I was 17 for 4 weeks.

I loved the course, the scenery the activities and the camaraderie, but Porridge for breakfast every day and pea soup every night as a starter meant that I never want to see or taste those two items every again :vomiton22je::vomiton:

I quite often have uncooked porridge with cold milk and a touch of Demerara sugar.

Prefer the nice big oats compared to the smaller ones.

You were 17 for only 4 weeks ?

I take the whole 52 weeks between each birthday ...
