Well… we’re all in for it, I suppose.

I’ve just checked the local weather forecast and our little haven haven on the moors is due for a
couple of inches of snow over the weekend, too! Never mind. “Make hay while the sun shines”, eh?

This morning’s brought the beginnings of a beautiful day, so the ‘Bird’s outside, warming up,
and soon we’ll be making the best of what we’ve got before the storm comes. :motorino:

Be safe.

Reminds me, must set the timer to record that programme about Brunel.;)

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
I had a great day out yesterday, getting “lost” in the Welsh hills and then blattin’ back home on the motorways. I’m biased, I know - but I just love the way the ‘Bird does what it does - no, really: what a machine! I had a lot of fun in the sun, although I got a little reminder of how cold it had been overnight as I rode down the A5104 wooded section, just before passing Bodidrod House.

The trees had kept the sun off the road and I had a couple of interesting moments over some black ice; water had drained onto and across the road from the raised banking on my left as I descended towards Pen-y-Stryt. No harm done and, after a bit more pottering around I headed homeward having decided that, for once, the M-way was the safest way!

I've spent an approximate total of ten hours "on me bike(s)" in the past two days, but I DO need to get out more - the old (yeah - that's the word:crybaby2:) - the old quads were complaining a bit, this morning - which means that I’m more comfortable on my R1, these days, than I am on the ‘Bird.

The days of inactivity (or, rather insufficient activity) have been noted. :nono:

Let there be no more!

But... not today - starting next week, cuz I just looked outside an' it's still fookin Fre-e-eeeezin"!! :qmeparto:

Full of admiration for someone actually riding their motorised cycle in cold, weather.

Then you spoiled it by washing it.

Real men Leave the washing until Spring, it'll clean up just as well. The dirt protects it.

Been there, and had one

Good idea, let that precious salty residue stay there locked until you need it in the Spring

Don't forget Beaker hates motorcycles, so nothing would give him greater pleasure than to see one rot away.

I know, I know; I’m weak, and my behaviour betrays my girlish love of all things shiny…

Easy answer is to ride in the rain as well as the cold.

Why do you have to explain everything on this site?

They all rot away without any input from me whatsoever.

Cars don't.

Tell 'management' it's sustainable....Good for tree growth...etc...(y)
Looking at the detail it looks like the car may well have a decent racing history.

Maybe I can swing it on that.

Just for personal interest, did you get that picture from a website or is it just a random photo? Wouldn't mind knowing a bit more about that.

Mission accomplished, thread diverted to cars instead of motorised cycles:campeon:

£700k is a bit optimistic! Most of the cars in the pictures aren't worth a light.

The XK120 is not ecomically viable, would probably take £200k + to restore to a decent standard

Yarp...but you are buying the history that goes with it.

From what is said in the article there is no 'valuable' history with that car. If it had been driven by Fangio to first place in the amonte Carlo then that is valuable history.
