Absolutely agree that appearance is a matter of taste.

Sadly the xType is pig ugly to my eyes.:D

The S Type was a good looking car to my eyes, but was widely ridiculed. Mrs A would happily get one even now!

I have had two Mercs, an A Class on a silly cheap lease for Mrs A years ago and an E Class. I thought they were both awful, never been so uncomfortable in a car. Yet everyone that I worked with adored the E Class.

Everyone agreed the A Class was awful, ours went back within six months.

I agree in so much as the earlier X-Types were an aquired taste, but once they changed the grill and got rid of all the chrome, it (to me anyway) transformed the look of the car and I still love the look of it even though I admit that I am [robably biased.

But on the other hand, for me the S type is about the ugliest Jag ever put into production, so like you say, it all comes down to personal taste.

But wouldn't it be a boring world if we all liked the same thing?

A man of impeccable taste.
He didn’t want a Beemer, he wanted a Jag and I’m ok with that. But to have a pissy fit, push it in a river and, most likely, render it beyond economical repair? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of such astonishing petulance before. If he was my son, he’d spend the next two years in traction being fed through a straw. And disinherited.
