Based on that alone and the weather forecast my forecast is that England will win at a canter.

Yes............but the tournament has been blessed with fine weather to date......heavy rain first thing this morning, overcast at the start with sunshine forecast from late morning. That wicket is really green as well.

Scoring rate so far suggests the ball isn't coming on to the bat.

Lots of twists and turns no doubt to come!

Without a doubt.. That was an incredible nail biting finish and all because the inthrow hit Stokes bat as he dived... you couldn't make it up

What an advert for ODi cricket!

That has to be one of the if not the best game ever and so fitting for a final and a wonderful advert for the game.

Well done England, but also commiserations to New Zealand. With 2 overs remaining I was convinced we had lost it.

It was incredible, and it is also fair to say that the small moments that were vital went englands way.

New Zealand's bowling was incredible defending a small target. They had so many near edges to the keeper I lost count.

Now the dust has settled, and I know the rules of the competition mean that England won........but I can't get my head round the fact that New Zealand finished 242-8 and England 242 all out (or 242-9 if they hadn't (rightly) gone for the suicide run off the final ball).

When I played limited overs cricket the number of wickets taken were the deciding factor when the score was tied.

Sport evolves, Tennis now has final set tie break, Football has var & new rules regarding free kicks, at one time the top three teams were promoted to the next division, now it could be top two & sixth placed.

I agree but the fact is that the team that performed best in 'normal time' lost!

Doesn't seem right to me.

Last season Leeds united had more possession than any other team they played, they had more shots & more shots on target than any of the teams they played, they completed more passes than any other team they played, on those stats they were the best team in the championship but they still didn’t get promoted, not always the best team wins.
