I admit it .. the MP3 was a mistake..
Not fast enough
Not big enough tank
And after years of riding 'normal' bikes I cannot get comfy with the riding position

I still need something smaller and lighter, so went to Wheels in Peterborough today to check out a few options
Come away with a year old CB500 X with full luggage

So if you know anyone who fancies a Piaggio MP3 500 Sport LC with 350 miles on it, for £1600 off ( looking for£7300 ) with heated grips send them my way

Why didn’t you trade in your Piaggio?

Also, you seem to like the Adventure bikes so why not try the GS 800?

Blimey John - 350 miles seems like you haven't given it much of a chance?

Its the weight difference. And the X seat height is only 31!... I can sit on and flat toot

Too high and too heavy to move around safely mate
I believe I will be better off advertising is for sale.
That was there is a good chance I will get my money back

15 minutes in to every ride my back get painful
The AirHawk arrived yesterday.. tried it....... Worked for my bum but I has hoping te 1/2 extra height would help with the riding position .. it does but still an issue

There is also the issue of tank range... With just a 14 litre tank it is simply not big enough.
I was really hoping I could get away with it, but working it out, there would be zero safety margin in on the proposed route trough south west Germany and the Austrian Alps on my preferred route

Pick it up Tuesday
Got a 60 mile ride home so I get get some idea then
The short test ride was favourable, but suddenly, for the first time in a long time, I have got to think chain oil !
It is a bit sparse on creature comforts, but it is a budget bike, and not much that I cannot add my self in that respect..
It is only about 45 bh so not exactly over powered but it gets there ( eventually ) and is about the best I am likely to get that meets my needs and comes in at 195k wet

Shame it is not half that weight, I could put it on the back of the van then !

830mm according to Honda....that's about 32.5".

Can you handle the extra 1.5".....? ;)

As an aside.... when did Honda start selling Montessa bikes..? :nusenuse:

Nowt wrong with a modern 500 if you want to throw some clothes on board and bugger off for a week or two. I went to Poland one year and one fellow on his first ever bike and therefore first ever time abroad rode a new 600 Diversion. That was barely a 500 in reality.

I’m jealous. All I have to look forward to is boarding the Chunnel shuttle in a week or three in the MH and get away for a month or so. My euro tour biking getaways have gotaway from me nowadays.

The whole front end changed.. There is a hole ready to take a 12v or usb socket.
Also went to all LED light.. the older one only has LED headlight
