Bev & I went strawberry picking today & as you do a couple of stawberries found their way into our mouths, (yes we did contribute to the honesty box) after tea I prepared some of the strawberries with some nice double cream, Bev said “I hope you washed the strawberries” I assured her I had & then realised how daft the conversation was as we had already eaten some unwashed at point of picking.

Can you remember back to a time long passed, when mothers let their kids play in the back garden, and the baby would always ingest a few mouthfuls of good honest dirt? Who got sick back then? Eating a bit of dirt is good for you as it helps to build up immunity to all the crap around you.

We used to go strawberry picking, they actually stopped us coming, they said we ate a LOT more than we ever picked, kids today have missed out on all of that, makes me feel quite sorry for the little gits!!

It's a small world. A lovely Devonian lady was telling me all about the Strawberry Hill Gothic architecture movement today. Never heard of it before, very interesting.

And there was strawberry jam at breakfast, although I went for the marmalade.

The over riding question is sugar or no sugar on the strawberries :abduct:

Correct answer if you buy decent strawberries they are shouldn't need sugar on them (y)

Well they're not going to let you into the Royal box at Wimbledon....! (unless you've got jeans on and have a bodyguard ;)).

The place we go (Bentley’s, off Denby dale road, Wakefield) always have the tastiest, juiciest strawberries however Icing sugar & double cream is something I’ve always done, just about the only time I have sugar.

mate at work insists he's allergic to strawberry's, he comes out in a rash.

When questioned, it comes from going strawberry picking when he was in his mid 30's (never had a problem before). His (then) missus said he must have eaten a couple of lbs. I think we have the answer right there.
