Well, my tolerance levels for the whole LGBT-KGB-BBC-OBE-DDT and Bar community are rapidly dropping through the floor.

On the BBC breakfast news this morning they had an LGBT police liasion officer. Said officer was sporting a pair of very fetching rainbow epaulettes on his uniform. What the f*ck is that supposed to signify (apart from yet another waste of public taxes)... priority given to mincers, rugmunchers and those terminally confused "gender fluid" twats (sorry, probably the wrong word)...?

Once again a minority group (6% of the population, allegedly) subverts a perfectly innocent symbol (the rainbow) or word (remember when "gay" meant happy..?") for their own nefarious political agenda.

Is it just me, or is society entirely geared up to pander to minorities, at the cost of normality for the rest of us..?

Oh thank fuck for that. I thought it was just me thinking the innocent rainbow was lost to normal people. I was offended by having to know that chief inspector was gay, I don't need to know his sexual orientation.

So if you're the parents of a little girl how are you going to explain to her that "no, that doesn't mean the nice policeman patrols the streets on a unicorn"....?

Is "priority" the right word?

I would have thought "empathy" is better.

No, priority is what I meant. More important to investigate the fact that they've been called bad names than do something more important like nicking Jo Brand for enciting hate crimes against poor MP's.

Whether individuals like it or not the LGBT community is a big part of society in the 21st century.

I really can't believe that there are many people out there who can't or maybe won't believe that the community has been discriminated against over many many years...not just by the man in the street, but by the law, employers, and so on. That is why there is now more visible support for this community than there ever has been, maybe recognising the historic narrow mindedness of the majority 'straight' community.

Live and let live.

Why wouldn't anyone?

Absolutely live and let live, but I don't need to know everyones sexual orientation. Unless I'm wearing really tight trousers no one would guess my religion. I do find it offensive when the mgbgt mob shove their sexuality in our faces, no pun intended.

If we have an opinion that the minorities don’t like or agree with then we are labelled, it is their way of trying to control us by making us frightened to say what we think, I’ve lost count of the number of times I have heard of senior managers punishing diversity issues & then committing the same alleged offences.
How can someone be punished for having an opinion?

Agreed.
An older gay guy I was talking to some years ago agree on that. I mentioned gay pride parade. He didn't agree with them.

It's fine to have an opinion. However, when that opinion discriminates against others for what they are - not what they 'choose to be' - then it is best kept to oneself.

everyone has different tolerance levels and everyone has in-built discrimination in one form or another, whether it is conscious or unconscious.

To use the LGBT theme in this thread - plenty see it as a 'choice' and dare I say it even 'an illness'. Fortunately the vast majority accept it as being something natural, and that tolerance is increasing with each generation. Many feel uncomfortable with it and maybe that's fair enough as human nature is that we shy away from what isn't familiar and maybe what we don't understand.

The great way of putting LGBT into perspective is 'how would you react if your son/daughter 'came out''? Yes there are some who would be horrified and throw them out but most would get over it and continue to love and support their child.

I used to get really hacked off - even slightly offended- when I had to go through the tortuous process of doing a 'diversity check' when I had completed the annual pay and bonuses round at work. But, sadly, I could understand why it was necessary.

How does 6% of the population suddenly become "a big part of society" .…? You did once work in the banking sector, right..?

I have no problem with people's sexuality until they make it a political weapon to subvert the rest of society to their way of thinking
Teaching kids as young as 3 or 4 about the ins and outs (pun intended) of being LGBT is not, in my opinion, about education. It's about indoctrination while pushing an agenda. It's not coincidence that the headmaster who introduced this is himself gay and wrote the material.

Now we have to accommodate the wishes of those "gender fluid" individuals (can't call them men or women as that would infringe their human rights to be Jack today and Jill tomorrow) by having non-gender specific toilets.
There's a fine line between confused and deluded, but while they try to figure out whether or not they want to wear makeup today the rest of society (herewith known as the majority of the population) have to play along.

I've got news for them... X and Y chromosomes don't lie. Having a 4 limb transplant and a taste for fish will never make me a feckin' octopus.

Maybe you might want to ask him out??
