After nine months of battling a team of carpenters turned up this morning to commence four days of scheduled remedial works on fourteen properties that I am involved in managing....they had run out of materials at the end of the third house, won't be back for three or four weeks while some timber cladding is machined to order.
Took the courtesy car back to BMW to swap for mine, remembered (eventually) to get the golf clubs out of the boot but forgot the bag on the back seat containing business bank statements.......car has already been taken away by another customer.....
Bought ten boxes of Earl Grey tea in an Sainsbury on the way home, got to the self service till to pay and it came up as 50p per box more than the price on the shelf and on the website. 25 minutes to sort that out.
Mother in law very unwell so Mrs Beaker has left me home alone for the foreseeable future, we are supposed to be going to Jersey next week.
Think I will also cancel today.
Why I why did I post the above.
As soon as I finished typing Mrs B called from her mums saying 'I think there is a water leak here somewhere'.
She was right, suspect it is under the bath which, needless to say, has been fully tiled with no access. And, of course, the pipe which is leaking (hot water from combi) did not have any isolation valves anywhere at all.
It has now.
Lazy bastard penny pinching plumber.
Despite the Bath being fully tiled I hope the leak is under there.......there are outside hot and cold taps for the hot tub that the previous owners had...isolated by means of ballofix valves in the cavity in the external brick and block wall, only access being holes in the tiling the size of 2p pieces. Now, it is hardly unheard of for ballofix valves to leak.............
I too wish today had been cancelled.
