amazing stuff.

We acquired one about six foot tall last year in a massive pot that was being thrown out by someone who had lost faith in it as it looked sickly.

Despite giving it p a lot of care we couldn't get it looking anything like its best so Decided to chop it right down to soil level ten days ago...already over four feet tall and looking magnificent.

That's about five inches growth per day.

Amazing.

I think I planted mine upside down. Put in in the ground and never saw it again, probably in china by now

Well if it regrows at the same rate as Andy's bamboo then we'll be entering you for the pole vault by the end of July...!

When we moved to our current house one of the first things I did was to dig out the bamboo in the back garden, not an easy job.

That is why it is best kept in a pot, even the 'non-invasive' species

Derek has to occupy himself somehow. You should be more sympathetic.

Do you know anything about hydrangeas? Something has been chomping away on ours but as yet we have been unable to identify the culprit.
