An improvement on the bag of shite that was in there to start with :)

Before anyone gets the wrong idea about that comment I have built & rebuilt a few imp engines & they really are poorly made gutless things unless you spend a fortune on "upgrades" that make a little difference

+ I'm partial to a brick engine or two :)

First ever fatal I ever dealt with involved an Imp.

Car hit a street light and a spark caused the fuel tank in the front to ignite. Driver was burnt to a crisp.

Only part of him that wasn't burnt was his arm which had shattered into his shoulder and on which was fastened an identitity bracelet, and the rear pocket of his jeans which contained £400.

Apparently back in the 70's the pocket of jeans had a percentage of asbestos woven into them.

My brothers first car was an Imp.

Whichever way you look at it, it was a whole lot better than the Mini, the spawn of the devil alternative.

Put a bag of sand in the boot (front) to help stop it taming on the lines in the road, also remember having to replace a few water pumps.

I had two. Bastards blew head gaskets for a pastime but you could get the engine out in 20 minutes. Loved them. I seem to remember replacing the front suspension and brakes - think it was triumph Herald that went straight on but I might be wrong.

Yep. Put ballast in front and did water pumps.

No you're not and neither is just about anyone else on this forum. ;)

I remember one of the guys I served with was a real Imp nut. He never had less than 2 at any one time - 1 on the road and 1 for spares.
Different car, same dodgy rep... there's a guy round the corner from me who seems to be obsessed with Morris Marina's. He usually has at least 6 or so, but I've known his "collection" to hit double figures.
