good looking AND modest
Handbrake, though on a hill I also leave it in gear, reverse for pointing downhill, first for pointing up hill, just in case, If the car has an "electric" button handbrake both all the time!!

I once parked my car after doing a lap of the Nurburgring. Handbrake on, jumped out.

20mins later my car had moved about 4ft. The disks had cooled, shrinking and enabling it to roll on a very slight slope.

I've never parked without it being in gear since

Only park in gear.
I'm an emergency it would be some way possible to move it.

Once saw a car on a beach and tide coming in. They couldn't move it at all.
Guy came back just barely in time. It was up above tyre if I remember.

Also saw a pic of a BMW - both windows in the back broken and fire hose from hydrant passing through. It was taken in USA.

Always use both now. I used to only use the hand brake when I first got my 1st car but I soon learned an expensive lesson:(.
We had been to visit a mate on Blyvooruitzicht gold mine about 20 miles away from the mine we stayed at. As we were making ready to leave for home, Sandra placed the carry cot onto the back seat of our passat estate, there was a loud crack and the car started to roll backwards down the driveway. Me and my mate were behind the car and tried to stop it rolling. Anyway at the last second we had to leap out of the way as it smashed into the corner of the garage lol. Stoved the whole back door, bumper and rear door sill in. Luckily our son was ok(y).
We thought it was a snapped brake cable, however it turned out to be a worn slot in a brake shoe where the adjuster rod was supposed to locate:eek:

Handbrake. Mine’s an auto and isn’t available as a manual.

Having lived on a very steep hill for years I always use both, seen too many cars rolling away to rely on the handbrake alone

Both, what a useless poll. Manual, in gear and parking brake, auto in park AND parking brake.
