coming your way soon..according to Fifth Gear last night "London 2019, Birmingham 2020 and many others to follow"

£6 to £12.50 per day predicted.

Diesels need to hit Eoro 6 introduced 2015.

Petrol Euro 4 introduced 2006.

You can check your vehicle is one of the estimated 13m affected using the link below.

No idea how this affects motorbikes, would be good if someone can plug in a Blackbird registration number and see what happens.

I've put in my son's 'Bird reg number (it used to be mine). It's a 2000 FI and is NOT exempt.

Old news I am afraid... The mayor of London is under fire from all sides as the move ( as far as bikes go ) is counter productive in reducing pollution

Until such times as he deals with the bike crime rate in the city people are reluctant to buy new(er ) bikes ..
14,600 bikes and scooter reported stolen SO FAR in the London area this year

You are subject to the ULEZ.

From 8 April 2019 if you travel in the ULEZ you will need to pay the daily ULEZ charge. This is because your vehicle does not meet the ULEZ standards*.

My 03 bird isn't exempt. More surprisingly my v8 diesel isn't either. Bastards.

noobie

Clueless in most things
Some thing else that has gone is times'? The current charge only applies after 7am and until 6pm. The Ultra Low Emission Zones appear to be 24 hours

It may be old news John "I'm afraid" but awareness is extremely low.

To show how stupid bureaucracy can be - my Volvo was a factory bifuel I.e ran on lpg with a tiny reserve petrol tank. When the London Congestion Charge was introduced it was exempt as it ran on lpg. After a while, received notification that the exemption was being removed as the car 'could' run on petrol. I lodged a formal appeal and lost.

Bet, hey, guess what happens under the new Iltra Low Emission Zone....it is exempt!!

Which only proves that the Congestion Charge change was simply a money grabbing exercise, nothing to,do,with pollution.

I commute in to London so I'm pretty familar with this. I checked my bike about a year ago. I've just repeated it and no change although the TFL answer is not the absolute rule.

The recent announcement was about the extension of the ULEZ in 2020 when the North and South circular will be the boundary. I must admit I may have leverage this with my wife when buying my new motorbike ;)

MAG met with the major and subsequently posted that there's the possibility to be exempt even if your bike doesn't meet Euro3.

I emailed Honda on Monday with my VIN and copy of V5 and today I've received the Certificate of Conformity. This shows that the emission that the exemption is based on (NOx) is half the permissible amount. Therefore my '06 'bird should be exempt. :) TFL has said how you apply for this yet.

If they close this loophole or change the rules to make it only Euro3 certificated vehicles then my 'bird won't comply as the hydrocarbon emissions are more than double Euro3 level.
