Had similar symptoms when my reg/rec failed, enough charge in the battery to light up the dash lights, indicators & main lights but the alarm just gave two beeps each time I tried to disable it.

No fuel pump tho as mine's a carbie.

Result? bike wouldn't start. Alarm is a Meta 357 (I think), but as Jaws says, a little more detail would be useful.

I had the same problem !

Mine was a datatool system 3 ... All black cables ...
Someone recommended cutting it all out and re soldering everything .... Great but didnt have the time !!!!

Datatool gave me a quick fix !
Alarm and immobiliser bypassed .... No cutting and no soldering !

regardless of make, just rip the fekker out, no one gives a toss about an alarm going off, and they seem to cause more trouble than they are worth!!:dunno:

Meta are the biggest pile of shit you could have fitted to your bike. Seriously get it off the bike as soon as possible. I have removed 7 of these Meta alarms from bikes that have broken down and left people stranded in the middle of no where.
I had to remove a Meta alarm in the Assen race circuit when a mates bike decided not to start on the way out of the track. That was fun,, NOT!
GET IT TAKEN OFF THE BIKE!!!!

Andrew, if you are unsure on how to remove the thing safely, please ring ( 01842 754415 or 0781 8822887 ) or skype me any day 9 am to 10pm

It is a very simple process that requires little more than fairly basic skills and tools once explained.

I need an alarm on mine as the bike lives outside the front of my house so at least if some bastid is trying to lift I will have half a chance if I hear the alarm @tu*
As for Meta......in 6yrs ownership of 2 blackbirds...both having Meta alarms fitted I can say i have never had an issue with either in 52000 miles covered @tu*
Just hope it stays that way now ive said that
