heres a shot of the fecked fr tyre what it had on it..i think the last owner only went round right hand bends judging by the state of the fr tyre....back was shot in the middle aswell......that will b £200 straight off the asking price......plus another £50 for the pads.....i paid £1950 for it...i think that was a steel!!.
nope....i done the hands off the bars at xx speed with the new tyres and it is fine....goes in a straight line ....when i tried this with the feked tyres it started to shake the bars so i quickly grabbed em .......the rear was dead in the middle only....brakes r perfect also.....checked swing arm for play....every thing checked out...Was the rear worn in a similar manner? Id also be worried that something is not lined up correctly. Does the bike pull to one side at all?
they were bridgestones mate....and they were well under pressure when i test rode it last tuesday....it had full tank then..picked it up thursday and he said he`ed filled the tank up for me as he`ed been out on a last blast....thought nice one mate...@tu*..went straight to asda air line and had it 32psi in the rear and about 36 in the fr....it felt shit like that....i put 40 rear 38 fr in ....now its 42 42 after reading on here....and now it fills like a different bike....plus my fat ass on it all day...:}Not sure what make that knackered tyre is, but is say it either could'nt handle the birds weight or were run under the 42psi recommended pressure. Tidy bike chap. Best whip the fairing panels off, they hide lots of potential problems,
well if it has its been looked after very well...engines still sweet...gear box is fine....no knocks/rattles......rides so smooth for such a big heavy bike....seeing as i got 218 miles out a full tank....when the red light came on..at roughly 209 i think....i did a further 9 miles till i could get off motorway to a garage....how far will i go until i`m pushing it then???...not that i`d b pushing it far before i collapsed...i should of filled it right up again but only had £10 on me.....with them pressure and that wear it looks and sounds like a track bike, which has had the fairings put back on.
the rear was dead only in the middle....sides were o.k though.....If it was just tyre pressure why would it wear on one side?
@tu*already done jus under 700 miles since last friday nite...:-0)...ur doin 60....breath on the throttle and ur doin 130+.....awesome....still cant get over how smooth it still is....for such a old bike...jus need sum risers i think then it should b even better.....Good find and purchase
It's like a twin brother of my one :yo:
The very best of luck with it @tu*
Gar
I had the very same pattern of wear happen on an 021 front (Needed one in a hurry after a puncture), got rid very quickly. And they were at the correct pressure.
Nice bike.
Murt.
If it was just tyre pressure why would it wear on one side?
My Storm Ultra 2's did, both of the fronts used did the same, wore a flat RH side. Correct pressure as well.
Trying Angels this time.
