where has he gone??????
Sorry for the hiatus but I found the near hysterical response to a reasonable post surprising. But what was really surprising was to find that an idiot, who almost ran into the back of my bike, was claiming that I had almost taken him out.
Idiots who tailgate me annoy me and I do my best to discourage them. To find such an idiot getting support for his dangerous riding is extremely discouraging, and being disparaged for coming to a gradual stop whilst moving left. In what way I did anything wrong or dangerous I find impossible to see.
Consequently I am no longer sure that there is any point in my posting on this website.

Rise above it fella. as with all forums of this sort there is an 'in crowd' and outsiders. very difficult to break in I'm afraid. As an outsider looking in i.e I wasn't there, no idea what happened, etc etc it seems you may have inadvertantly, erm, annoyed a couple of ladies with your comments about their ridingc7u8. And then everyone jumps on the bandwagon; because it's easy to rip into someone in hyperspace.%$fan

Don't worry about it, give as good as you get and keep posting!! Let's face it, if anyone on here had half a life they wouldn't be postingh1d1ng2

At the end of the day none of it really matters...............:-0)

And i am really pleased that this thread is now back to lifep0pc0rn41

Steve hasn't ever seen my riding - he annoyed me because he made an assumption about me and named me in a thread whilst quoting that assumption. Personally I thought and still think that was out of order - rude at the very best and presumptious.

I'm sorry if that makes me seem part of an 'in crowd', but I would never comment in that way about anyone else's riding - with knowledge or without. Please note, I haven't commented on Steve's riding as I have NOT seen him ride.

It is sad when people feel there is a clique on forums, but I guess it can seem that way when people go out and meet in real life?? - other people on here will be well aware that I hate the idea of 'in' and 'out' crowds, but hey ho.

Steve, as you cut straight across the front of us on a roundabout on that same rideout and then braked for no reason, nearly taking us out, I am inclined to think that you may have done the same to Mick. (And I don't belong to any 'in-crowd').

I'm sorry that you misunderstood my use of the the term "riding confidence". This has nothing to do with your skill or ability to ride a bike.
It's about your attitude to riding, not your ability. The term is in widespread use and always has this same meaning.
Besides which any sane person loses riding confidence when they almost have a serious accident, which you told us about, irresapective of their riding ability!

Sorry but you where following too closely. Always leave enough space for the prerson in front to stop suddenly. To do otherwise is bad riding or driving!

but - I do have 'riding confidence'. I've just done over 1000 mile commuting and fun in about ten days. You have made an assumption about me. I've crashed and lost confidence - about four years ago. Since then I've gained more 'riding' confidence than I thought possible - all because someone took the time to teach me how to ride my bike in the way of advanced training. I 'practice every time I ride, I don't feel the need to find a roundabout and practice - I use road to get from A to B that I know will give me a chance practice my riding in a way that will enable me to have fun too.

If there is any lack of confidence, it is whether I will be in pain within ten minutes of setting off or an hour which has sod all to do with the riding confidence.

Either way - what gives you the right to make that comment about me (and TST) on a public forum?? Ok - its public. But that isn't a good reason in my book. It isn't polite and I feel it suggests a patronising attitude - which is exactly why I was so annoyed.

But, as I said before - hey ho

Crikey.

All it takes is a bit of humble pie and this thread would be consigned to history. and that would be a great shame.:-0)

Now, am I 'in' or 'out'?

Hot or not?

Or just to lazy/busy/idle to get along to a bash? Or just scared that nobody will talk to me?? The three or four peeps I have met off here have been very, very nice!

Now, am I 'in' or 'out'?

That depends. Are you a 'biker' or a 'motorcyclist' ?? Are you a 'riding God' or 'totally shit' on a bike ??? Do you read 'MCN' or 'Back Street Heroes' ?? 'Motorcycle Sport and Leisure' or '100% Biker' ???:-0)

To cut across the front of others in a riding group is also bad riding, as is braking on a roundabout.

But we cured the problem, we just kept well away from you after several such instances.

I think Stevebiker said on another post that he rolls off the throttle / changes down to slow without showing brake lights to "brake test" cars he thinks are too close. Seems like a death wish to me. Not much consolation to say the car driver is at fault for being too close when you are in hospital.

I would not want you to feel you have to quit the forum Steve. Just apologise for offence caused (even if it was unintentional)
