I have just purchased a yoshi trs full system from an ebay vendor in the states.Thed problem is that on arrival their is no hole where the o2 sensor should screw into it.
I have spoken to a mechanic and he reckons the vendor has sold me a carb version yoshi, some debate with the vendor and he swears it came from a 2002 blackbird?
I suspect that if it was from a 2002 blackbird then he would have had a power commander fitted.

Any advice greatly appreciated as I want to fit the system on my 2001 bird and suspect I will be shelling out for a power commander.

As an after thought would it be possibe to just drill a hole in the exhaust and locate the sensor in there?:bang:

You could get a local welder to drill a hole then weld a nut to the exhaust in the correct position so you could screw the sensor in to it.

The exhaust might be from a 2001 Fi BB that was registered in 2002.
The early Fi bikes had analogue dash, no cats and no 02 sensor.

Thanks for the input cbrdeano'
Do you think I will need the power commander too?

As long as the o2 sensor is re-installed you might get away with it.

IIRC the general discussions seem to indicate that you can install exhaust OR air filter but not both with the standard ecu.

A power commander at a later date might help smooth things out.

The reason I know about the early FI BB headers is that I have the headers from a 2000 FI BB on my 97 carb bike and they had no o2 sensor hole.

Why don't you just fit an o2 sensor eliminator and do away with the sensor? I've had this set up on my 04 bike for the last 7 years with no problems, also the o2 sensor won't work properly or make any difference unless you have the original CAT exhausts fitted.

Ok, that's good news.
I suppose the next step is the power commander but:xmthey are pricey.I suppose if I max out all the overtime I can have all the pennies in three weeks for the part and mechanic fees.
My 2nd hand yoshi with a couple of tiny dings are looking good after buffing them up with autosol.I'm looking forward to getting the standard cans off because they are heavy and fugly.Step two, get centre stand off!
One last question' will I need to get the bike Dyno-jetted after the power commander install?

I might be able to help you out on a power commander and an eliminator, I think I still have one in a box that I took off a 2003 bike before I sold it. I'm not sure what version the PC is but it was working fine before I took it off the bike.
If your interested let me know. 07717477776.

Hi, e bay usually lists little bypass / eliminator units

probably better than drilling it

Thanks Grant,
I just bought one off the bay' (o2 eliminator) and the bike is throwing lots of issues at me trying to max out the overtime for a new power commander. The bck brake is siezed and only pushes from one side so have bought a new used caliper to sort out the one-only pad wear:bang:.

I am still polishing my Yoshi trs system and further to finishing my tube of Autosol I nipped up to halfords for another tube and they wanted ?6 for 75ml. fookers! So a quick zip round online and I got a 250ml can of liquid autosol for ?5.99 with FREE delivery. Hooray for the tinternet.I got a used rear brake disc for a lovely ?25 and it's mint!

I do badly need a rear hugger as mine is broken on the mounts and chatters like a whores nickers.

I just discovered after looking at lings and david silvers there is no sump gasket on the bird, so a tube of welseal also required to fit my new sump. I am so looking forward to hot tarmac and installing all the mods that are purchased and some items yet to be paid for.Moto Gp is the fooking icing on the cake after a long hard winter.Come on Rossi, cal smith,pedrosa......Ciders on the chill..
