Wheelchair Tyres - help Please

My sister is in a chair which has 3.50 x 10 rear tyres, these are tubeless scooter tyres, vespa sizes. She has had a puncture which needs doing, i've done the fronts which are split rims and easy enough and she now has solid tyres to go on the front. Now the place she got the chair from in Coventry want ?47+vat to fill the rears with foam to puncture proof them and she has to post the wheels off. The rears are single piece rims and they seem to think they are the only ones that can get the tyres off, can it be any harder than a motorbike tyre, anyone got any experience of these

cheers guys

If they went on, Ch@ppers.

They will come off. Any chance of close up piccies so everyone can see what you are talking about. :dunno: If there is a valve on the rears then surely puncture repair foam could be used.

I had the same problem on a sit on mower - easily sorted by fitting inner tubes. Make sure whatever caused the puncture is not still in the tyre or you will be back where you started. Tubes are stupid expensive from tyre fitters, cheap as chips on eBay. If you can't get the exact size go bigger and it will be fine.

is is about the only vehicle I would recommend the stuff be used on, but put 'Puncture Seal' in the tyres.. It will work well on that application

Cheers guys, she has a bottle of stuff for it so i'll use it and see how she gets on. It's prone to thorn puncture as she take her greyhound out with it around the lanes where she lives. Took 5 thorns out the fronts last time but have solid tires for them now.

I can't remember why but some time ago I think we used something called shieldwell ? in nan's old electric scooter, it was just another slime product but seemed to work well.
