Our 12 year old integrated dish washer packed-up last week. The brand name was Teka, a spanish/german company who have now dissappeared.
Went out and bought a Smeg, supposedly a good brand with a 5 year warranty.
Arrived today and so spent the morning fitting it.
Crazy thing is that the new one is almost identical to the old one, down to the fancy bits that had to be screwed onto the oak door to attach it to the inner door. There were a few little differences, only to be expected over 12 years. Even the screw hole fittings to fasten it sideways to the cabinets were in the same position!
Now the financial things. The one we bought 12 years ago cost £350. we've just paid £330 for the Smeg. Couldn't remember dishwashers being an expensive item 12 years ago, but we must have been happy with what we paid.
