I used Jaws fork upgrade kit along with fresh oil and seals along with a decent Nitron shock at the back.
Night and day better than stock, but it will never be a ZZR1400. Love it for what it is and enjoy its many good
qualities .

Somewhere in amongst the squabbling was the help I needed. Jaws springs now ordered so the bird is definitely staying. Rear shock upgrade will follow once I've decided which way to go.
I'll be sticking around on the forum in my new role as assistant site pendant in the hope that one day I'll be as good at it as centaur!

Thought I'd post an update on this.
Firstly, the £5.50 to sponsor this site is the best money I've ever spent on the bike. Some good experience and knowledge here - and the piss taking is a nice way to while away the odd hour.
I fitted the jaws front springs today. Piece of cake to do. Less than 2 hours including a fork oil change and a tea break. Wasn't going to change the fork oil but my OCD won out again so I did. I thought it was odd that one fork contained oil as I was expecting but the other one had a red liquid in it which looked suspiciously like power steering fluid to me. I've had the bike from new so it wasn't a previous owners bodge. Anybody else come across this or did Honda just run out of fork oil and fill it up with whatever they had lying around?
The front spring upgrade is bloody good. I wasn't expecting to notice too much difference because I'm definitely not valentine Rossi. But it is noticeably better than stock. I'm no motorcycling journalist but I'd describe it as feeling more planted. It is definitely more comfortable and holds a line much better. If you're thinking about doing this then just crack on and do it. It's a reasonable cheap and easy fix and the results are well worth it. My thanks to you John for making this available.
I'd post some pictures to help anybody who may be going to do this but my garage floor is a right fcuking mess.
