Just decided 2 weeks before to get the hell out of the country for a week.

Bike was a BMWF650GS (the twin 800) hired from Moto & Bike .

Cost was €77 per day and I used about another €10 per day on fuel, did about 1100km over the 5 days I had her

Enjoyed that on the S5 phone mate, and just seen it on here, and now watched it in 1080p on the big screen.

As I said on FB (as DavenJan), it was a lovely relaxing ride. The type Jan & I came to love. I remember when (years ago) I only liked riding on reasonably straight roads. Then came the revelation, and I didnt want a bloody motorway ever again (barring getting to & from Germany, France, Belgium & Holland).

Did it cost much to take your bike kit with you on the plane? (Or was that all you took? ;-0))).

My bike gear (inc helmet) took up 10.5kg of my 25kg hold allowance, rest of it was just shorts & t shirts.

The other option would have been to have worn the boots & Jacket (combined weight around 7kg) onto the plane


Laptop and all the electronic gubbins went in my hand luggage

I did a long weekend riding the mountains in Austria. Flew to Germany collected hire bike etc.
I didn't need too much luggage but since I went to the airport on my bike I didn't get changed until I was passed check in, passport, security.

No one weighs your baggage at that point @tu*
