I'm already booked for Oulton 22/2 but there are only places in Novice group left now.

"Book early" seems to be the trend! :-0)

One day I will do a track day. It's still on my bucket list, would def be in the novice group though.

Is it true that you must have one piece leathers or can you get away with the 2 piece zip together type:dunno:

As long as you can zip pants and jacket together you'll be fine. @tu*

Cheers DA, Ordinarily could do a week day by booking a day off, but I have too much on at home and work just at the moment.

But at least I now know I have a set of leathers I can use when the time comes@tu*

I will add that two piece leathers need to zip more than 3/4 of the way round.
Not just the 3" that some leathers do.

Did Silverstone last year too. Wasn't really that excited about it to be honest due to the lack of elevation but it's a fast track and that does get the senses tingling.

First visit there was so wet they cancelled the day after my sighting laps - the kerbs very invisible due to being under water! Felt horrendous. I've done car tracks days there and it is called Slipperystone for a reason. I went back in the dry and had a top day. I don't like the multiple straights as it somehow made me mix up my bearings and where I was on circuit. Strange when I can run through a lap of the 'ring in my mind.

Cheers, Scotty @tu* – I’d heard that when the new circuit first opened a lot of guys were crashing because the track was so wide
that they were hitting the corners too fast – almost as if there was too much room and they couldn’t cope with it! :whi5tl:

Your comment about your disorientation on track kinda confirms that initial feedback, even though that was a few years ago.

Anyway, thanks for the info. – have a good day when you’re back there and keep those cool pictures a-comin’ thick an’ fast, lad! :-0)

Yep - def a place to pick your braking markers and then move them back as you get used to it.

On the flooded sighting laps I did I thought I was tip toeing around. Down the straight I was still hitting 100mph .... and I was on road tyres :bang

Also it's a place that some people bottle the speeds so accelerate up to their personal limit* which means you can be behind them and then close really quickly.

* - this probably shows you that I'm sitting in that random group called inters!

Been in novice, on the old cbr600. Got comfortable, then frustrated - held up in the corners then overtaken on the straights, to be held up in the corners again. Went in advanced and happy to have been overtaken by almost all, but overtake one or two.

Went in inters on a 750 and fell off.:dunno::bang::wank:

Yeah ? I was the same, first time I went out in the ?Advanced? group.

...Didn?t care who passed me, stuck at it and got ?faster? as a result. @tu*

...(Also crashed a lot faster, too, but that?s another story!) :p
