drought in memory. Apparently it's the wrong time of year 'cos the trees and plants are using all the water and the rain is the wrong type !! Too heavy so just runs off to no-where! Plus the 'sun' (what the feck is that!) evaporates it! Personally if I get any wetter outside %$fan . Bet the water bills wont come down despite a hosepipe ban. Good old water companies:tosser: . Bleet bleet bleet etc.......

No water shortage up in lancashire man8um My mate that works for United Utilities say the ground is so full of water that land slips are a problem, plus the res are full.

I heard that a planning application to build more reservoirs in the south east has been turned down....

cos they cant fill the ones they have.

It's not the reservoirs that's the problem. It's the water company having leaks in their pipes. I can't rememeber there ever being a hose-pipe ban in Peterbroough in the 12 years I've lived here.

Can't be the fact that they've been building thousands upon thousands of new homes in the south east can it?

Still there's money in that isn't there, not so sexy having to find new ways of supplying those houses with water.

Is it really that simply? More houses means more consumption. No new supplies, less to go round. :dunno:
