The joys of putting secondhand kit on your bike

Just a few questions to ask yourself when buying secondhand bits for your bike:

Why are the bits being sold?
Could it be because they are old and/or obsolete?

Could the parts have a chequered history?
Maybe this is whats left of a crashed and/or stolen bike?

Do you really want to speed excessively (and lots of folk do!) not being completey sure that luggage is safe and secure?

Maybe that screen or whatever appears cheap but maybe they're not very good, maybe not very well made and maybe they may be illegal to use on the road?

And especially when hunting for those great bargains on internet auction sites - how much is the item new PLUS you'll be getting a guarantee AND peace of mind if you do your research properly!

Just give some proper thought to what you're doing.............

That's the beauty of a site like this with so many members. If you're in doubt you only have to ask. You may not get the advice you want but you'll get some. Lol.
Personally, I'd rather pay the going price than part with money for something I wasn't sure of. :dunno:
