FJR and Bird Commander
:dunno:Went to Edinburgh yesterday to see if I could get a test ride of the Buell Ulysess at Alvins,Hardly movingson stealer,only to find theyv'e gone bustbrok3
Bast**ds apparently kept taking peeps money for deposits on bikes their never gonna get, and no refund
So I went to Two wheels instead.
3 Possibilities there.
1) 99T Bird in the proper colour, RED, 23k miles ?3999 020 on the rear and a macadam on the front. I pointed this out to the sales man who said "If the service manager says its ok its ok" Bollox says I!!
Tyres aside, He offered to put on a scotoiler and do it for ?3899, Still a bit uncomfortable in my hip though.
2) A 52 plate Pan with 13k miles and Honda top box and Corbin seat. Abs model for ?5750. Dropped it to ?5,500 without any haggling.
3) 52 plate FJR1300 in black, 24000 miles. One owner and fsh, Mint apart from having been dropped. Nothing serious, slightly bent clutch lever and a scuff on the generator cover, no other signs.
Took it out for a test ride for about an hour. A bit wallowy but I stopped and upped the preload front & back, although not quite as sharp steering as the Bird it was very good. Plenty torque too but obviously not as quick as the Bird.
Ticket price is ?5,500 and they offered it for ?5,250 so :dunno: what to do.
All bikes come with 6 mos tax 1 yr mot and 3 mons warranty ( I thought consumer law provided 6 monthe comback:dunno: )
