Took BB in for 8k service today. Service OK, but whilst in the dealer's yard some stray plastic wrap/bags blew all over the hot exhaust (collector and one end can). Dealer had a go at shifting it, with mixed results (basically, now have nicely scoured exhaust). Does anyone have any good ideas on how to shift burnt-on melted plastic from polished stainless steel???

Oh, and hi to Ian R. Nice to put a face to a name.

And does anyone know a half decent Honda dealer in Humberside or S Yorks?

TIA

Yeah..........

..........take it back and get the dealer to put right his shite attempts. His fault, I presume from the original post. Would have thought it would polish out fairly easily but I wouldn't be wasting my valuable time on fixing their problem..........:bandit:

BTW..........see if there's a choice of Blade demo you can borrow while they're doing it !! :}

Have You Tried................

Getting the exhaust system warm and using some thinners on a rag to dissolve the plastic ??

Obviously, don't get it stinking hot cos of the fire risk !!!!....but working on the theory that plastic is melted by spirit it may be worth a try.
