Interesting fact, When Thatcher became PM she was the only member of her cabinet who was not a millionaire in their own right (her husband was but she wasn't) within twelve months she was a millionaire in her own right, now I wonder how that can possibly have happened, maybe she invented Microsoft, or maybe she hit on a brilliant idea that got all the dragons from dragons den investing, or maybe she hiked up MP's earnings & expenses at the expense of the working man, or maybe it was the back handers she was receiving for promising to sell the Postal service, or British rail etc.

Excuse me bright eyes but some of the people getting twatted are already working in poorly paid jobs. I too have no time for people who won't work but don't hit young working families for instance.
"Bright eyes" So now i'm a rabbit am I?.

I think I may have posted this before, but 50% of the Falklands were owned by Coalite a further 25% were owned indirectly by Coalite through shared directorships etc. Denis Thatcher was a major shareholder and on the board of Coalite via The Falklands Islands Company. The whole point of the claim against the Falklands by Argentina had nothing to do with willy waving, it was purely to gain the resources that Coalite owned.

The reason for the task force being sent had little to do with maintaining the Britishness of the Islanders, but maintaining a grip on those Coalite resources.

So before, the goosestepper accuses me of being a communist, I have accepted the Queens shilling, no I was not there during the war and have never been there, but know people who were and knew someone who gave their life there. The days of countries sending troops to far off lands to fight tyranny or oppression are long gone, Blair sent troops to Iraq at America's calling. Dick Cheney was the US Vice President, the US company that benefited most through oil and engineering works post Gulf war was Halliburton -CEO of Halliburton yep you have guessed it Dick Cheney -thats how the likes of Bliar and the witch became millionaires

As an aside my best mate, best man and daughters godfather served 24 years including a number of years in special forces, he went to the Palace twice to receive gallantry medals, :bow:Do you know they charge £175 to get the photo that is taken as you receive yer gong from the Queen

Do you know, reading all the for and against posts, I'm not sure I could put up a strong arguement either way. :dunno:

I'm sure you would find it far easier to put a strong argument against rather than for, any normal minded person could, unless you own one of the companies she sold off.

You can't please all of the people all of the time Derek. She/the government did right to step on the unions and that's from someone who served a five year apprenticeship with a nationalised industry. As an electrician, I've had shop stewards check my tool-box to make sure I didn't have spanners.
Yes! really.

She only pleased those who she could use & then she tossed them aside.

Why did they check that you'd no spanners? to make sure you weren't going to do someone else's job perhaps.
One man one job, was it such a bad thing?

It was pathetic. If I needed to remove an electric motor for repair, I had to wait for a fitter to remove the flange bolts, then I could disconnect the wiring, then both of us had to wait for a labourer to lift it off. No wonder industry went tits up under union rule.

That 'efficiency' thing is so vastly overrated, isn't it? Why have a guy doing a job when you can have three people doing it?
Oh- because it takes twice as long, costs 3 times as much & is probably no better a job than if one guy had done it from start to finish.

Who, in the name of all that's holy, teaches their four-year old son to dance while singing "Thatcher's dead, Thatcher's dead"?

It's pretty obvious that Mrs T was loved and loathed in equal measure. Fair enough, free world, freedom of speech, opinions are like arseholes etc bl4hbl4h. I have no problem with that.

But teaching a kid of that age such hatred? Isn't that how any form of extremism starts? The next generation of muslim suicide bombers? Racism? Homophobia? It's pretty much the same sort of brain washing that the North Koreans have been practising for years.

I once sailed with a Geordie who took great pride in how is six-year old son "hates fuckin' pakis". Really? Yet another reason why this country is fucked.

Mr. Garrick, you sir, are a disgrace.

Take no notice Pozza dear, it's sensationalist Sky/Mirror/Sun etc claptrap. There'll have only been a dozen or so and they'll all have been "kids".

However, the "kids" behaviour IS disgraceful, childish and all the rest. Typical selfish, uncaring, spiteful, "I'm alright jack", don't give a fook about anyones feelings spawn of Thatcher. How very ironic, the children of the Ironic Lady turning in on themselves sorta thang. 8rfl@ We deserve all we get. We're a 'orrible hating society now aren't we? Oh wait a minute, there's no such thing as society is there :dunno:

Anyrode, Mr Garrick wants a good fekkin kicking for teaching his kid shite like that. :wank:

Is a lunp
she was a fan of les miserables by all accounts, you reckon they will play this song tomorrow??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPpkTgMbhRU

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Courfeyrac:
Then join in the fight
That will give you the right to be free!

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!

Will you give all you can give
So that our banner may advance
Some will fall and some will live
Will you stand up and take your chance?
The blood of the martyrs
Will water the meadows of France!

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echoes the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
