Clueless in most things
I haven't bought the comic in about 3 years (mcn dated 22nd july) Then last week I bought one knowing I would be somewhere in a queue for quite a few hours.
Page 34 the title was " do they still make those?" and the bikes it included was ktm rc8r, ducati streetfighter 848, bmw k1300s motorsport edition and our old friend the vfr1200 but the dct version.
The write up on the vfr should have been the one they did when it was first launched and not the one Honda paid them to do.
Just some excerts " So how did Honda get it so wrong?.The vfr was Honda's solution to a problem that didn't exist". "Riders wanted an update pan or much loved blackbird instead Honda gave them a pricey sports tourer that was blighted by a poor tank range, suspect build quality and unwanted technical complications" "So why doesn't it handle properly? It's long, lazy to turn and the shocks damping performance is atrocious" "brutally harsh brakes and poor abs system"
Their summation on the ?12,499 VFR? "It's time for Honda to cut its losses with the vfr. There are so many better, cheaper and more technologically advanced sports tourers that do the job with far more precision and accomplishment"
I doubt Honda will take any notice but it's good to know that the motorcycling media are finally owning up to the bike they always had and was a pile o shite and Honda has lost it's way.
