:} Seeing its been such a shitty wet summer...

And surely its got to improve...

And I have a long weekend in September...

How about a Rideout in Scotland sometime over the weekend 13-16 September. Starting and finishing anywhere and as long as people want.

Any ideas or interest?

Count me in Andy.........Well that is if the broken wrist is healed by then which it should be.

Would be good if all the other members in Scotland could meet up or agree to meet up along the way just to say Hi! :}

How about starting somewhere central, like Stirling or Kinross Services and then heading north or west?

Tell me which day you prefer, people. And I agree Snowdog, lets get all the Scottish members to meet up (and non Scots too!)

Well Snowdog and Clive, thats a grand total of 3 so far!
Where are the rest of these Scots and north of England 'bird riders?

So are there any more members out there who might join in a Rideout on the weekend in question?

FAT BOB'S in the room.
As Sting would put it "I'm an Englishman in the Broch"
Stirling services sounds O.K. to me for the 14th. It would take me a couple of hours to get there so I could make it by about 10am.
That would make 4 of us then!!

Fat Bob we could collect you on the way wherever we may end up going, would save you coming all the way down from the North East.

Anyone any ideas on a route yet?

How about a circular route taking in Stirling(meetting point) Aviemore, Inverness, Fort Augustus, Fort William, Oban, Inveraray, Tyndrum then onto Callendar before arriving back at Stirling? :)

bummer

I'd have loved to have come along guys, but we did that route last weekend and the following weekend (22nd) we'll be going down to the Rossendale thang. Got to save my pennies for the next 2 weeks and get some overtime in to help pay for it all !!
My son is also taking his theory this weekend so I want to get him up to speed on this practical, so will need the next 2 weekends for him, god it's all go !
Next time eh.....:B

Hey Everyone, is this rideout still on for the22nd???
If it is can I suggest you go the other way round, I can then meet up with you at Inverness and ride the circuit with you , Fort Augustus, Fort William, Oban,etc. etc. 'till Crianlarich, then I'll carry on thro' Crieff, Perth and back up to the Broch.

I only bought my Bird three weeks ago and I'm in love already, had an FJ1200 before that and she's just a distant memory. How fickle our emotions are eh?
I was out last weekend and what really amazes me is fourth gear, it just seems to pull for ever with such phenominal acceleration. I know I must sound like a twat but I still can't get over it, I'm still trying to get the grin off my face, people at work think I've finally flipped.

However, back to the ride, let me know if it's still on, looking forward to it.

By the way, Russ fae Fyvie, 'fraid I don't have the faintest idea what your talking about regarding the seat!! Must have been someone else.

oops !

Sorry M8, got the wrong guy, it was ALWANNABIRD who wanted a look at the seat but it's sorted now. I believe when you're my age, certain brain cells start to harden up and die, must have been one of them that thought it was you......:D
We can't manage that ride out cos we're off to the Rossendale Valley Show on the same weekend, we did do that route a couple of weeks ago though and it was fekkin brilliant !

Sorry guys, but my brush with the Knockhill tarmac last week has left me slightly less enthusiastic about a rideout next weekend - although I've been back on the 'bird twice since, so its a temporary aversion to long rides.

ummmmmmm i seem to be missing something here :confused:
on page 1 weekend of 14th was mentioned for a rideout ( which is good for me :D ) but on page 2 the following weekend ( 22nd ) which is not so good :B

if its the 14th let me know and i should be able to come along :} :} :}
if its the 22nd i might be able to come too but not too sure yet as i am kinda expectin visitors.

by the way ....... nice seat russ :D i think im gonna see about gettin one soonish so the run from Mintlaw to anywhere ( always a pretty long distance ) will be better on the butt :} :} :}
