Well done to Valentino  Not a good result for Edwards though, the 1/2 for Yamaha is slipping away from his grasp... :bang:

So what do we reckon about Shakey's ride then? Completely new bike, with limited constructive tracktime over the weekend due to the weather and on a track he's not raced on before, did he do well - or could've done better??

14th place means a couple of points, he didn't crash all weekend and progressed each and every session. Difficult one to call, but I think he did ok, not great or bad but ok. Wonder how he and the team feel about it? Also wonder how he'll do in the next race.... R#?

Shakey?

I think he was (and still is) in a difficult situation. He wants a ride for next year, so he needs to show he can do well on the bike, but equally he musn't go for it too much and end up binning it.

I suppose it's down to what his team manager asked of him. Personally, I would have loved to have seen him go for it, by finishing 14th, what has he proved?

I appreciate it was a Bridgestone track (or at least they seem to have the best tyres at the moment) and I doubt Camel Honda get the same tyres as the Repsol or Gauloise teams, but I think he needed to do better than, or at least close to what Bayliss would've done. Otherwise, he's no better than what they've got.

Hopefully he will go for it at the next round, he's proved he can get it to the end, now he needs to show he's worth a contract.

As for Gibernau, how can the guy ask for top money from Ducati, when he simply hasn't performed this year?
