what a rip off.

As another step to reducing our wastage by not buying water in plastic bottles we thought we would get a couple of the above.

Prices of the bottles are reasonable.

But the replacement filters........

On the bright side we have just bought our first box of cotton buds with cardboard rather than plastic tubes.

And another rip off - why can't you buy packets of washers for hose fittings? Means most people will have to buy a new fitting for the sake of a washer that should cost about 0.0000001p.

Bad for the customer. Bad for the environment.

Good for the retailer. Good for the manufacturer.

Fortunately I have a load of old fittings to get spares from.

- garden centre doesn't have a very big plumbing department
- b&q do not stock o rings in the right size
- i agree about the tart bit

The point to me is that the places where you buy hose fittings from do not sell washers/o rings separately. Hozelock stuff is sold from their own custom made displays with everything you could ever want all neatly labelled, except spare washers and o,rings. However, they do produce packs of washers and o rings (they are on eBay), just not in the places where you would expect to buy them.

Crafty.
