Renewing VEL online

After all the hype about being able to renew your car tax online, I have this morning tried to access the website on numerous occasions to see how it all works............................

Would it suprise you to know that the site is "temporarily unavailable"
Looks like I will be joining the usual queue at the end of the month then

it only works after16th of each month. I think it says on renewal thingy that you can't tax before the 16th of the previous month! :dunno:

How does that work then ? If you are a tight git like me and leave it 'till the last day of the month, how does it go with the law if you fail to display a valid tax disk 'cos it's in the post ??? :dunno:

if you done it online then the info is stored in their puter, so whn the tax camera or pc plod spots you the puter says ok dokey, they also say that tax will be with you in five day so if you are still running around with no disc after 2 weeks you aint got no tax.
