We have tried this with a few insurers and they just do not give a stuff..

Bout the only peeps that ever REALLY tried for us was Kes with Honda Insurance..

I am still with them after a two years and they are still the cheapest by far for me ( owning more than one bike.. unlike most other places these folks let you add another bike to your policy ( at a very few shekyls cost )

Last year my premium was ?95 plus ?11.00 for a scooter I added. ( TPFT, I think most of you know how I feel about fully comp and that total rip, the protected NCB !! ) )

stan the man

you are not capable
just insured the bird with express M/C insurance,?219 FC ?300 excess, legal cover,60 day european cover, clothing to the value of ?1,000.....and i've only got 3 years no claims.could have had it for ?205 with swinton, but ?500 excess.

may be worth a phone call :dunno:

was with honda for the last 2 years, but they wanted ?281 to renew

A quick update....?203 F/C with Express M/C Insurance, Thanks Stan,

Or,

?101.85 TPF&T with EBike. :lick:

Question is, which one, F/C or TPF&T? Is FC worth the extra? :dunno:

Even honest insurance brokers are now not recomending fully comp and def not NCB protection.. but it depends on you personally..

I had an off last year.. total all up cost with everything done and dusted came out at 149.00 ( that was a new nose cone and side panel and a right hand silencer, bar end, lever and mirror housing .. some parts new some 2nd hand.. Parts taken off sold on Ebay and recouped a LOT of the outlay ! )

Soooo,, given that I have had birds for 8 years and always had TPFT, I reckon I am at least a grand in pocket now.. ( early days I was quoted ?400+ fully comp agin ?150 TPFT )

I am happy to rebuild a bike ( mine took almost 3 whole hours ! ), but other folk may want the comfort of fully comp ( even though they will still be off the road probably longer than is reasonable if they have even a mild off ! )

I agree with Jaws

TPFT is a huge saving over years on a bike, as you can store it and fix it yourself (unless you live on a boat ), but this got me thinking of the benefits of fully comp.
Does it give you the real cover needed when trashing your own bike on european soil and not having the means, or funds of getting it home

.

Try getting something like this back as handluggage from Spain
