You'd be surprised at how many "bikers" know absolutely nothing about bikes, here are just a few from my time working in bike shops

'Hello mate I think there is something wrong with my chain' (hayabusa with the chain virtually dragging on the floor & the sprockets hooked to feck)

'Can you have a look at my brakes' (zx9r with blue front discs due to heat & pads down to the metal)

'Bike wont start' (ignition wires cut)

'Will this tyre pass the mot' (cbr600 with the carcass showing )

'I have a petrol leak (tap on prime)

'Brake light don't work' (no front switch & the rear disconnected)

And don't get me started on the quality of some of the rider skills !

I totally agree Ian.

The only thing that spoiled a gorgeous long country walk for me yesterday was the sound of a race rep with a race can repeatedly going up and down the A269 between Eastbourne and Seaford.

What a total twat.

I agree - he was right as well. Why do these idiots think everyone else wants to listen to them?

Not even as if that stretch of the a259 is a great biking road.

Yep, agreed. Diesels sound much better.

How many car drivers know the first thing about car maintenance

My brother & nephew knows enough to phone me even though I've spent most of my working life so far in a office.

Does that count?

In fairness I think I was pretty handy at one point but modern stuff is pretty much beyond the home mechanic.

Would have expected Ianrobbo to be able to change a bulb though:couch:

Gone are the days when you went to the scrappers & climbed a hill of cars to get a starter motor & came back with a new wing, a set of wheels & a cassette player & a cig lighter, then went home & fitted them & felt like the Worlds best mechanic

The biggest car breakers in Britain used to be by the A23 at Pease Pottage. Spent many a happy hour rummaging around it.

It is now a service station, complete with Burger King:(

Yes.
I did that on my bike as well. New wing was a bugger to fit!
