Just interested what people think about this. Police bully boy tactics yet again but this time resulting in an innocent mans death whos only crime was walking home from work. If this incident happened by you or me pushing someone then a few minutes later the man dying of a heart attack we would be on a manslaughter charge. My view is to sack him and try him for manslaughter.

suspension or desk duties (on full pay) for 18 months til the furore subsides, by which time the stress suffered by the officer concerned will have taken its toll & he will be able to take early retirement with compensatory lumper & pension assured.

Now come on Guy's your being unfair he did have his hands in his pockets..that must be an offence that justified killing him..like carrying a chair leg or wearing a back pack :-0)

strokers, there's that word again .........

you know, nothing much riles me, I mean not really riles me in the way it does some people, but this incident really pissed me off when I saw it this morning. I really could imagine myself in his situation, it's the kind of thing I would do, ie: not exactly go out of my way to annoy the police, but enough to say "hey, it's a free country pal ..... " and look what happened? .... I'm pretty fucking livid about this I can tell you. I'm not into tarring all with the same brush, but that copper is total a knobber of the highest order and am willing to meet him, along with a selection of his so called work 'mates' any day of the week anywhere to put this right, he would need a few mates with him too the :wank:

But a Millwall shirt you say? hhmmmm, on second thoughts . ...........

since chummy (who probably is making money from the clip) didnt film the few minutes earlier m8, who is to say whether or not it was unprovoked

not saying what happened is right because it obviously is not, just adding an additional thought to the discussionh1d1ng2

whilst I agree the said officer deserves all he has coming to him, how the heck are they going to identify him??

Mmm..
Firstly I AM NOT sticking up for the copper.
He appeared to use more force than was necessary to move the man on.
BUT
As has been said. It would be interesting to see the footage for the minutes or moments BEFORE the one shown.

And... Why would someone just take mobile phone footage of the man?? If nowt was going on, and he was 'just walking to work' (In the middle of a huge amount of public disorder) why photograph him??

If the copper was in the wrong... He deserves to be dealt with as any other member of society who has done wrong.

The IPPC are not governed by the police and (as said) are independent...
Lets see what they say shall we.

Well said Murt

The ploice should have let the unwashed green save the planet get rid of globel poverty lot wreck the city.

The bloke was not in the best of heath if a bit of a push caused a heart attack anyway.

By the looks of it a loud fart would have had him over.

Provoked or not

The copper is in the wrong, he hit him first on the back of the legs then pushed him to the floor from behind, BTW I think that the footage only came to light because the chaps family couldn't get any joy out of the police about his death.
The copper involved needs to be made a scapegoat to stamp this bullish behaviour out. But they will just close ranks:bang:

To maybe add a bit of fuel to the fire here, I had the displeasure of watching the 'protesters' out of my office window for a few parts of the first day of G20 'event'. The provocation that was directed at the poilce by a minority was unbelievable and I for one would not have blamed plod for reacting. I was just pleased that they were dealing with the overall disorder in a manner that was professional and appropriate in the face of the provoking minority.

Not saying plod was or wasn't out of order in the incident in question - I haven't even seen the clip - but if I had been having bricks/planks of wood/gob lobbed at me all day I might just be feeling a little on the tetchy side? Despite rumours, plod are human, and as such, despite training, they have human reactions in extreme situations. Equally there are alkways bad apples.

Perhaps the incident in question should be judged on a much wider perspective than the 'evidence' of on short clip?
