Behr, my Rottie is not well, wobbly on her back end, off her food, heavy breathing & some blood in her urine, we are booked into the vet at ten past four & I hope I'm wrong but I don't think she'll be coming home with us, she is ten years old & is an amazing dog, sweetest nature anyone could hope for but we have to do what is right for her & no matter how heartbroken we are if it is her time then we have to let her go.

Just got back from the vet, Behr is now at peace, we made the right decision but it is so heartbreaking.

My thoughts are with you. One of the saddest decisions I ever had to make. Being a southern softie it still affects me after 12 years.

No consolation I know, but you did the right thing.

Bad news Derek, but take comfort that you have done the right thing. One of the hardest things I have ever done is to hold one of our cats while she was sent to a better place.

Sorry to hear this, my thoughts are with you and your family. I dread the day I have to do the same. Our Barney, a choccy lab, is 13 1/2 and doing well so far, but it could happen at any time.

Just thinking back over the times I've had to do the same and I'm beginning to well up.
I feel for you, mate. It's hard...but as others have said, it's the one thing you can do for them that we can't do for ourselves.

Know exactly how you feel. We lost our pup Tyson 14 months ago aged 10 and then Lara aged 16 just before Xmas.

One of my favourite pics of Ty here looking like he’d been hit by bus
