Just had a bimble to Southern Ireland for the first time. Well impressed and cannot wait to go again. Average 270 miles per day on some fantastic roads (everyone should try the road down to Dingle from Connahs pass on a weekday - no traffic, see for miles round all the twisties).

The weather Monday to Thursday this week was certainly better than in UK. People ever so friendly, food (and Guinness - in the evening) was excellent. Scenery absiolutely stunning, other drivers so considerate in getting out of the way and even the iffy roads still good for honing the skills.

Best of all, didnt see a single speed camera and the odd Garda that we did see weren't particularly interested in us - and all for ?69 return on Irish Ferries Pembroke to Rosslare.

The Southern bit up to Kenmare's a bit challenging, the Kerry Ring (do it clockwise to avoid traffic) very good in places and gives you a good workout. Dingle peninsula absolute brill (particularly Connahs Pass) and the road up to Limerick unforgettable.

Sorry I diidnt mention this before we went as I am sure there may well be others interested but will post it next time (or if others are interested may join you sooner).
