I know I'm late joining the party but I have only just watched the new series and I got the impression they wrote the dialogue for Edd and didn't change it for the new guy, jury still out with me

Watched one of the new series the other day. Not really that impressed. I used to watch it for the workshop segments any way. First nail in the coffin was moving the old series to the US, I have little interest in American metal & now they seem to have watered down the workshop too.

Think I'll give it a miss.

Fantomworks, American Hot Rod, Fast'n'loud all, good if you like American cars (and I can't think of any reason why anyone wouldn't).

Overhauling' is a bit cheesy but usually ok if you skip, the 'set up' bits.

Goblin Works has just started, uk based, might be ok.

Street Outlaws is US based 'Street racing' - some great machinery, even if the racing is hardly 'outlaw' stuff.

If you want motorbike related stuff it is pretty much The Hairy Bikers.

Says it all......:D

Come on you Hatters
If Mr Brewer learns to say "thirty three thousand" correctly , I might attempt to watch it! Coincidentally, I was passing through Chesterfield a couple of weeks back on a train and I noticed a building trackside which carries a sign saying; "Mike Brewer Car Sales" . I was quite surprised because Chesterfield is in Derbyshire, , and I can't imagine him ever venturing further North than Watford Gap. Typical "Cockney" Savvernah ! IMHO
There’s one in Luton too. I’d guess he’s set it up as some knd of franchise.

Looks like the one I saw was in Sheffield ,not Chesterfield Oops! Although, the train I was on passed through
both stations and it was dark, m'lud.
It wasn't dark, it was the soot from all the chimneys.

I have never liked the MGB but I did like what they did to theirs.

American Hot Rod is the programme to watch for both great design and exceptional craftsmanship. It is quite old now but class never ages.

A great shame that the Boyd Coddington empire fell apart after his death - it would appear that the finances weren't great when he passed.

I quite liked Goblin works garage the mgb design was good & the boy sure can weld :)

As for Coddinton, obviously I don't know what he was like in person but he came across as an arrogant little shit on telly & every time I watched the builds I was thinking typical yanks still building shite chassis for their cars almost exactly as henry ford did on the model T ............. things have moved on from there (about 40 years ago) no wonder they went bust :(

As above with the welderup crew they got the skills & their cars look great but everything is on a heavy angle iron & U section chassis FFS :(

I have just watched the Saab episode and thought it was excellent (albeit I don't like the car).

Anstead's metal fabrication skills were a joy to watch and the guy who 'fabricated' the replacement windscreen was something else - never seen anything like it.

Maybe it was time for a change after all.........
