New member after some advice on what to look for on a Blackbird

Hi all,

As the title suggests I am looking to buy a Blackbird, I currently ride an ST1300 Pan and although it is a fantastic bike I am looking to get a Blackbird. I was wondering if any of you could tell me what to look out for, what are the best years to go for etc. Many thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Bob and welcome on board..
I am gonna dig out an info sheet I supply to all the mags when they want to interview me about the Bird... should help

My personal preference is a carb bike.. Faster, quicker, better MPG, and very few gremlins.

Watch out for an email from straightfour.. that will be me @tu*

HI mates.

I have just bought an amazing XX from 1998, and it would be a hell of visiting your country within the next six months. I accept any kind of advices or suggestions. The best season, route, ship or eurotunnel, places to visit and accommodation.

I'm looking forward seeing some of you this summer.

Congratulations for the wep page.

Hi and welcome Visa
Best advice is stay in Spain.. !!
Some of the roads further south of Spain than you around Malaga are just amazing.. You proly know the roads in and around towns are bloody awful as they get so very slippery, but out on the open roads.. wow !!

We have only just been in your neck of the woods.. If I had seen your post before getting back up in to France we could have had a meet and you could have bought me a few cerveza @tu*

Seriously though, places to visit would depend on what sort of thing you are interested in..
There are some great routes and roads, some places to avoid on a quick bike due to our boys in blue being a bit errrr.. active..

Lets start with the sort stuff you might like to see and then someone might be able to suggest roads or routes you might wanna take in :-0)

Hello, new bird owner checking in from Ireland here.

Picked up a 2001 with 31k miles yesterday - 4 years to the day since I first rode a bike.

My bike progression has been Yam XJ600 Diversion, Yam Fazer 600, Suzuki Vstrom 1000 and now a blackbird. Have had my heart set on picking up a blackbird for a few years now, finally did it so it's time to break it in.

I'm bound to have plenty of newbie questions to annoy the rest of you with too!

Enjoy :-0)
