Not so great in the dark to be honest which is why so many folk go with HID's @tu*

But yes, can certainly be ridden in the rain, snow, sleet, desert, sand storm.. pretty much anything in fact and without any serious long term issues @tu*@tu*!!

Hi All

Been biking for a good few years, had v-twins the last being a 2007 Aprilia RSVR Tuono, but a job change has forced me to change the bike, was looking at the FJR but the price they are still asking for them seems silly, so ive ended up with a Blue 2001 Bird 17k and full givi.. I have to say even coming from a 1000cc bike and then riding this its frigging quik lol.

There is just a few things i need todo on the bike ie. get some bar raisers, silencers. heated grips, may even get a gel seat in time, but all this is cash dependent as it aint cheep getting shiny bits..

I have noticed the rear shock on the bike has taken some weather and looks tatty, think previous owner has used it thru a few winters and not cleaned it and never used a hugger, but over all the bike is in v good condition.

Well at the mo its put away in the garage and acf50'd up ready for better weather, so hope to meet some other Bird riders in the coming months...

Hi all. New kid here so thought I would introduce myself. I'm up in sunny Scotland and have been riding a blackbird for a couple of years now.
I've been biking for many years and have one for most occasions, including a chopper, a scooter and a sidecar combination which I use as my company van.

Anyway, its good to meet you all and even though I don't tend to get on here much, I look forward to the chat.

Hi Everyone! I'm new to here, have posted pictures of the bike in my bike thread. Well it's not exactly my bike gr0n: but the fella's bird. We have just revamped it and got her back on the road. Great resprayed paint job and love the seat that 'Else Made' crafted for us. I had gel put in the back for my delicate bum 8rfl@ He did a fantastic job on it :yo: but I also ride my own bike being a Honda Hornet 600cc. Have been on a couple or so trips away on her, namely Wales and Scotland and thinking of doing Paris next year via Isle of White.
We are from mid Norfolk, Dereham. Hope I can keep up with all your threads of different information! but any clues would be of great help @tu*
Safe riding one n all

Hi everybody

I thought I might introduce my self at this forum even if I own a "lesser" bike. :D

I have been working in UK for longer periods last years. One of the occations I brought my bike with me in a van and did a UK around trip starting from Salisbury-Scotland-Ireland and back to south England. It was really great except for all the mist and rain in Scotland.

This picture is from Snowdon, attached it so I hope it will show up.

I have mostly owned KTM superdukes. My previous bike was a KTM Superduke R.

Can´t promise I will buy a firebird though ;)

I don't think the photo is from Snowdonia. I believe it is in the Berwyns between Pen y Bont Fawr and Bala on the B4391. :-0)

I?ve been looking through the possible route and I think you are right. I had my Garmin Zumo on "scenic routes" from I started my trip in Wales in Cardiff that morning until I neded up in Chester on the evening. In south Wales a weirdo in the hostel recommended me to to a very beautiful little town famous for bookshops. So I randomly drove there through the coolest and most narrow roads. Once I had to steer into a mud hole with the bike and almost fell off, to avoid and accident where to cars had met because the road was so narrow and had no sight.

In the afternoon I started to reach the mountainious areas. First there were some villages and then came this amazing pass you see on the picture.

From here on I found no petrol shop at all. People were directing me to different possible areas and I was following the navigator but they were all closed. I reached a place which I believe was "blaenau ffestiniog". I have afterwards been looking for this place on the map without finding it. I found it because of your description of where the picture was taken. A beautiful little town with some very ascent grey hills. There were no petrol shop in this town even. Chocking! A family offered me some petrol until I got to the next petrol shop because I had almost completely run out. They were really friend and refused any compensation at all. Made my day.

So I actually belive I never made it to Snowdonia. Because then it was night and I started to drive to Chester. Still a very beautiful drive. This picture is right before I arrived the first village before entering the mountain pass.

The second picture on the next highlight on the trip, the applecross mountainpass in Scotland.

Hi, been looking round the forum and appreciating the humour, I have come to the conclusion I am not getting enough abuse at the moment and thought this looked like a good place to cop a load.
I have had a Bird (a blue one) for a year now and it still makes me smile every time I get it on it. Had been looking for one on and off for a couple of years and then got lucky finding an 02 bike with only 4300 dry miles on the clock. I use it most days to get to work and get out for longer rides at the weekend if I can find an excuse.
Kept it mostly standard so far but have added bar risers, 6mm rear suspension spacer, scotoiler and heated grips. I live in Plymouth.
