Hi and welcome...... carb or EFI, they're all good.

If you search through here you'll see there can be minor probs, cam chain tensioner, reg/rec etc.... but fixes are pretty quick and cheap...... I'm sure JAWS will be along in a moment to list 'em and just how cheap he can be!!

They do the miles the well.......... good luck finding one... and then have fun...

Hi.
My name is Dave and I have just joined the B.I.R.D. owners club.
I bought my Blackbird last week so am still getting used to it.
I used to have a '99 'blade but needed something that the missus would ride pillion on. She went on my blade once and hated it! ( too high a "perch" )
Once I am comfortable with it I would love to have a ride out at weekends with some who lives in Warwickshire.
So far I love it.
Interestingly enough, I went to buy a 'busa but after test riding a 2001 model, I went for the 'bird. Didnt like the 'busa ride position ( pegs high/weight on wrists ) and after the 'bird's smoothness it felt a bit crude.
However, someone brought in a 2006 'busa last week which felt totally different. Is this shades of the "great when new but shite after a few years" Suzuki build quality?
I look forward to having a bit of banter with you all.

Newbie

Hi

I am another newbie. Bought my Bird from Hailsham just over a week ago (160 mile trip in rain and dark for a first experience) - January 2004 in Silver with 9k on clock. I live in Market Harborough and I am semi retired (means I get to ride to Spain and back a couple of times a year if anyone is interested in a trip).

I still have my Jan 2002 600 Hornet which I did the Spain trip on last year. My wife and I covered 800 miles in one day (November) starting off in freezing fog hence the purchase of the Bird. (For sale if anyone's wife is interested - unfortunately mine isn't)

Anyone out there live in my area?

Welcome to the site Meanstreak, if you've been lurking for a while you'll obviously know what the banter is like, don't take yourself too seriously & I'm sure you'll have a laugh. [too many people these days forget what that's like]

OLD FART SIGHNING ON

Good afternoon Ladys & Gentlemen.

Nice site :yo:

I have just bought a 2000 Super Blackbird. And should be picking it up next week (14000) on the clock.

As for me I am 57 years young. Married (38 years). 4 Children. 7 Grand Children.

Preasent Bike is a Teapot, have had lots of fun on it. But the wife's right cheek keeps getting burnt on the exhaust. So have bought the Bird, as it has a wider seat, so should stop this problem.

Greetings Pampers.
Get stuck in and give as good as you get.

Just one thing, Why does your wife keep putting her face against the exhaust?

Does she live the bike that much.

Murt.

Hey all,

First post here as I'm just about to pick up my '01 Bird tmro morning. Was put in touch with this site by the previous owner so am gonna be spending even more work time now on the net than usualp0pc0rn41 hahaha!!

Also have a KTM Superduke 990 which is a complete nutjob of a bike so needed something with a few home comforts like fairings/luggage/a pillion seat for SWMBO/& 175mph trips to the shop for milk!!!!

Speak soon, gotta go and get me sh!te sorted out for the big day tmro. Even took the day off for the occasion in true dedicated style (that's dedicated to bikes not work!! haha)

C yawl later

Great bike, great banter on this site (glad it's not what i was expecting nuff said);-)

Another vfr convert (which was my first Honda in 26 years of riding bikes)always liked suzuki's shame about the finish.

Hope to have the craic with a few on here and meet a few around the kent/south east area.
