Apriilia's used to do this a lot, the futura is a good example of sitting in the dealers for a few years or stored on first U.K. import.

Is there a way John, you can tell from the chassis numbers on a bird, the year of manufacturer?

I only suggest this thunder as some parts are different through the years, not many but it might help to know what year model it is when it is different from the year of registration.

Quite possibly a late registered bike. Mine is a carb bike, first registered in 2000 on a W plate

After a mental few months and not much riding, I'm back :yo:

Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and your livers are limbering up for New Year. All being well, I should be spending the weekend fettling with the bike (New oil/filter, plugs) but also to figure out why my bulbs have gone and my one indicator is intermittent... Oh the joys!

Ah, that sounds like a possible need for the legendary Blackbird loom fix........ take a look at the loom fix thread at the top of the Help section if you can't see any obvious reason for the issues you have.

indicator was a duff connector and the bulb was just duff too.

Relatively easy fix. My next dilemma, if i wanted bobbins on the swingarm for a paddock stand. How much of a pain in the arse would it be?

Glad you got it sorted.

On the paddock stand, I used those rubber coated u shaped supports that fit under the swingarm. Some in here swear by the abba stands

I visited the Abba museum when I was in Stockholm just before Christmas.
