A few hours left before year 2002 ends. I was looking for a photo my Bird, but I have found one I have almost forgotten. Everyone was shocked when they saw the photo.
How could I do it? Was I out of my mind?
The story:
I rode on my Bird (in full leathers and full face helmet with dark visor) to my dealer to get fresh rubber a few days before I left for my holiday tour to the Northcape.
While the mechanic was changing tires, my dealer said to me that I can have a ride on the V-Rod instead of waiting. I did not have to think twice, so I accepted the offer. A lot of heads were turning that day when I was passing by on the V-Rod. If you look at the photo you will know why.

No, I am not even thinking about trading in my Bird!

I actually quite like the V-ROD, having read an article on it i was suprised to find that it actually has some power behind it.
A mate of mine's dad has a fatboy and a sportster which i have ridden and liked the comfort but no matter what you did with the gears and throttle they just dont go.
I'd quite like a go on one just to see what its like.
Do tell us Arnold, was it fun?

LOL Arnold and Joeboy, you must know some weird people ! :h :neenaw:

Oddly enough, a member of my local club rides a V Rod and he always rides in full leathers too !
We all keep asking him when he is gonna have some tassles and a fringe sewn on the arms ! :yo:

I have to confess that it was fun . I year ago I could ride a FXDX Superglide sport as loan bike when my Bird was serviced by my dealer. The engine of the V-Rod feels much better, runs smooth without vibrations!! The Superglide is old fashioned compared to the V-Rod. The power is superb for a v-twin. A sportier frame would make it much more atractive. The engine of the V-Rod in a Buell X1 .......... that would be real fun.
If you have the change to ride one, just do it.

Although it was fun to ride the V-Rod I was very glad to be on my blue (=fastest colour :} ) Blackbird again.

I am afraid that I can't explain why I was turning heads. I guess it must be the fact that I was the only one who was normal and all the others, who were turning their heads, were not.

Did you forget to mention the screen trim stuck to the BOTTOM of the screen :dunno:

All the clues are out there....................

Pink seat, lowered footrests, "painting through paper doilies paint schemes" etc etc
