Hi
Just got my first blackbird and being a newbie and never having worked on a blackbird before was wondering if you need to remove any fairings or the plastic bits that sit to the side of the fuel tank before lifting the tank? Or will it just lift at the rear once the two rear bolts have been removed. I need to lift the tank at the back to carry out the loom fix or so I understand.

Which is the best workshop manual to follow when carrying out jobs. Haynes??? or something else?

Thanks

Remove the seat, undo the rear grab rail and its bolts and remove, then remove the two bolts at the front of the tail unit closest to the tank, then remove the seat body work, remove the two tank bolts and raise the tank a few inches no more, no other bodywork needed to be removed. Then simply follow the instructions on the link.

I'll have it if that's OK.
Please let me know how much in total inc. postage. How do you want payment?
Thanks

No need to lift the tank at all me old mucker.. ..

Depending on what year your Bird is the job is either fairly easy or bloody easy ..
Digi dash only has 10 wires all of which join together pre digi dash 19 wires and in groups..
As long as you observe what colous are in each group it is not too hard though @tu*

However, should you feel the need to lift the tank I have done a step by step guide in a post near the top of the help section ( this section :) )

Tank removal guide all models
