"Give me somewhere to stand and I can move the world"

Archimedes.

Was also the title of my dissertation for my BSc paper on financial leverage.

A cracking read.

How strange. In nearly 35 years in financial services I never heard of this allegedly respected opus.

Or you could buy 4 rolls of Andrex for a few quid, which would serve the same purpose.

Not quite.
I once ( started ) to read a students dissertation on an aspect of finance ,... By about the 3rd page I fell asleep
I have never fallen asleep by the 3rd sheet of Andrex

Leverage is not for everyone, but can be spectacular for some.

Both in terms of gains and losses!!

Nope..
On the back door step, in the shed, under a car that I had managed to jack up, sitting the bonnet of a neighbours car, but never on the bog

Got me thinking about the funny & odd places I've fallen asleep.
In a staff meeting, "Am I boring you?" Asked the wing Governor "Yes" I replied got me a long awaited move to another group.
On a bench at kings cross station with one eye open & a hand firmly clenching my pusser's suitcase.
Fully stretched out on a garden wall with three inch wide coping stones at the top.
On my CZ175 riding to work one morning.
In the bath, several times.
Playing cricket.

Add it to your bucket list, then. (y)

I once fell asleep while adjusting the TV volume and I only woke up when the wife woke up and came downstairs to find out what the racket was. :beer-toast1:

While suffering from glandular fever in my 20s I often dozed off at my desk.

The best sleeper I have ever seen was a colleague Ray - he frequently dozed at his desk but had the ability to wake up and immediately he sharp as a pin - he had a fine mind. He also set a never beaten standard of falling asleep in a busy bar while sat unsupported i.e. Not leaning on bar/table on a bar stool with a glass of wine in his hand.

When we first moved to Wakefield our house had a bar under the stairs complete with hand pumps & optics, we had several friends & neighbours round, I was sat fast asleep at the bar with a glass of rum in my hand, apparently I slid off the stool, flat on my back without spilling a drop.
