:dunno: my Bars didnt make a noise before or since fitting:dunno: or are you asking if my helmet is making more noise?? if that's the case, nope!!:dunno: as stated above someplace, there's a bit more wind on my shoulders, but that is easily stopped, by leaning forward a bit to the position I would have been in had I still got the jaws risers on!!:dunno:

Jaws - Do you have to use your bars or can you use any "flat" bars?

I know in theory almost anything will fit the clamps, but what about the rise/trail of the handlebars as it seems clearance of all the controls lock-to-lock whilst not having to extend any lines/cables is a key consideration. I was thinking about using some Renthal fat bars (I just like the way they look) - do you think it is achievable?

Thanks in advance

Vbird - I notice you have not got mirror extenders, do you still have good visibility using the mirrors or do you end up inspecting hands/elbows?

May I complement you on a very nice looking bike and I think the handlebar conversion looks incredibly professional - i.e. looks like it left the factory this way and not a bolt-on afterthought. I guess it just demonstrates the value of simple, neat and well executed engineering design.

The pics were taken soon as I did the conversion, since then I`ve added Jaws mirror extenders, the mirror extenders are a must, unless you really love the look of your elbows :)

Jaws bar conversion was ever so simple to fit, I have re-routed the throttle cables but other than that everything fits as it should.

I used Renthal bars, (ordered Honda CRF250 fitment), which gives for me the best look and comfort. Since fitment I`ve added the Renthal bar ends, just plain black but finish the job off nice. If you wanted to use Fatbars then you`d have to machine the clamps due to the width of the bar where it passes through the clamps.

thanks for the kind words, I know its not to everyones taste, but I`ve done it how I want it to look, am very happy with the bike, each to their own.

Would like to make a suggestion but really it seems every bird is different and everyone finds different answers.
Have you tried adjusting the angle of the throttle body ?

Thanks John i hadnt considered that at all. Do you find that useful? Might play with the angle of the lines coming from the bar housing?
Shag it il plumb for longer lines from vehill. Rang them and they said they have never done a set for the bird (girl answering phone asked for me) but considering the list of bikes they have done i find that unlikely!
Anyway from looking at it i think my issue is the angle of the bar. I want it slighly raked back towards me rather than flat (also 3 inch rise and two back) and its that which is causing a sharp turn in the routing and binding the lines. Another 2.5 inch length should do i reckon.
Dont suppose anyone knows the lengths of our throttle cables?

Tips on throttle cable routing so its still snaps back? Outside the fork leg seems to just bind them whatever i do?

have a look at pic 3 on post 47, i dont have any issues at all and throttle snaps back as it should.
