They look fantastic, but what obviously critical role does the red Royal Mail elastic band on the tank play in the conversion? :-0) :-0)

Also, do you have to drill/tap the top yoke or do you simply clamp the kit onto the forks sticking through the top yoke and bolting it all together (with the handle bars) keeps the entire thing solid and immovable?

Did I say it looks fantastic

Looking at the 1st pic, the new bits clamp onto the top of the forks exactly the same as the bars do @tu*

Cheers guys.. :-0)

okkk..

1) Option two... Absolutely no drilling of the OEM yoke.. and yes they are solid !!

2) Red elastic band fell off my knob. I use it in a weird ritual associated with goats left horns and cauliflowers

3) Wibble

Forgot to mention..
That pair on my bike were just the tester ones..

They have been further developed since then and now have a single recessed cap bolt on each side to clamp them in place, and better contours..

The clamp area has also been reduce by about 4mm so as to allow the security ring to be replaced on the fork leg ( not that it is essential to say the least, more than it completes the job )

Once the physical aspect was sorted out I was not too happy with the two bolt clamps etc cos they just looked duff.. The single bolt clamp looks way better and of course matches how the OEM bars are mounted

the ol git's on his holidays at the moment, but take it from me, they give the ride of a sit up bike, less strain on the wrists, the wide bars feel a bit weird at first, but I got used to them very quickly, mirror extensions are a must as your arms get in the way, my shoulders are taking more wind blast, but I just lay forward a tad, AKA pre bar swap position, I had Jaws risers on my bike and the new bars are much better at reliving the wrists IMHO:bow: If you've a badly fitted tank cover on, the bars "MAY" just touch it with the switch gear, but NOT the tank, as the fork stops, stop the bars before any touching happens once you've adjusted them,!! :-0)

If the bars are tilted forward a small amount would that give greater tank clearance, or would they then foul the fairing.. Can we have a few pics on full lock please showing the clearance tank & fairing.

Not though anyone gives a shit... :-0)

here's some close up's, with a bit more fiddling you can get them to clear everything  I lost patience and "made do"!! h1d1ng2 I've to move the brake and clutch levers a bit more to make them even more comfortable!!:dunno:

thank's for the reply ian as i definately want (need)lol some, being wide will not bother me as i've just sold a tdm 850 with renthals on so you can say i'm used to the wide stance and with me getting on a bit now all that forwards leaning is no good for the old bones8rfl@

I used the bike in Scotland at the bash, and I must say they were just SO comfortable, all day blatting up and down those Scottish roads, and not a twinge from my wrists,

Any help fitting the bars will "at most" involve her indoors, bringing you cups of tea and maybe putting a finger on the bars whilst you adjust them to fit, only thing to remember is measure twice then again "BEFORE" drilling the two 5mm locating holes for the switchgear, electrical tape will make things easier here, :-0) hopefully my write up makes sense to John and he will use it for an instruction manual :dunno:

well worth every penny, I now dont have to swap my bike for something that has a shorter reach to the bars!! :-0) and I made a couple of bob back when I sold my "Jaws risers" on!!

:-0) Cheers John, and if the people ordering need any further explanation and John's not about, if I am, ask and I'll try and help, they are REALLY good kit!!

first picture with John's "risers" and Garmin blocking the view of the speedo etc and making the ignition key awkward to use!!

second, with the new bars and good view of all the clocks past the Garmin!! and easy access to the ignition key!!
