Big fan of JT' if he does go to GPs next year it wont be on a Honda.. they want him to do another year on a all new Factory blade ..

Great results for him as far as the championship goes but if the Yamahas tyres would have lasted I dont think Max or James would have won a race, especially the second one

Hes doing the Suzuka 8 hour this weekend with Rio Kyanari .. hope they kik ass..

:yo::yo:

Toseland: Will he or won't he?
Wednesday, 25th July 2007
With the World Superbike season rushing to a thrilling climax it still isn't clear if Britain's James Toseland will remain in the championship next year.
Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider and current World Superbike Championship leader, James Toseland is the hot topic of conversation within the paddock at the moment. He looks to be on the brink of securing a deal within MotoGP but he has stated in the past that he won't take a ride in the elite class unless it is a competitive package.
The Isle of Man based rider has seen other British riders take the plunge on the ?wrong' machinery just to get into the MotoGP paddock and that is a something he is determined not to do.
With several MotoGP teams interested in his services and Ten Kate keen to keep him in World Superbike it is very much decision time. ?At the moment there is interest which is really nice,? Toseland told Crash.net Radio at Brno.

?There is only interest while I keep doing well here, so I've got to focus on what I'm doing,? he warned, ?My number one aim is to win the championship and if I do that it will help me win a better deal in MotoGP if it does come along.?
He has a busy schedule ahead with the prestigious Suzuka Eight Hour and then Brands Hatch World Superbikes. ?I'm honoured to be part of the factory team of HRC with Kiyonari. I've got the best opportunity to win that on my first time there, I've had four days of testing over there and three days have been hailing it down with rain. I'm getting pretty good in the rain so if it rains I'll be alright, I think I might win it on my own!? he joked.
A strong performance at Suzuka could also assist with his MotoGP bid for a top flight seat. However, Ronald Ten Kate would like to hold onto his rider and is anticipating an answer soon, ?We had a pleasant discussion with Roger Burnett, James' manager and it all looks quite positive. James is going to the Suzuka Eight Hour with Kiyonari and the main HRC team, so when he comes back from there we have the dead line,? he said.
The Hannspree Ten Kate team are hoping to announce their plans for 2008 at a press conference at Brand Hatch and by that time Toseland should made the big decision.

hehe nice try mate but remember they are all on the same Perrelli tyres so it cant be used as an excuse .. bad rider setup and pushing very hard early on killed Haga's tyres ... Pilot error, a bit like Rossi in GP's ... :p

JT should stay where he is, it never did foggy any harm..

to be honest there are only 19 riders in moto GP and realistically only 3 or possibly 4 have any real chance of winning it.. He wants to do another year and then have Haydens ride when his contract is up at the same time :p

step backwards if he goes this year.. and the supers have been the best racing to watch again this year .. people just cannot afford to run a team at the top level in GPs anymore ... sad but true and if your honest its been a two horse race from the off the last three years at least .. unless Rossi decides to go for it from a lowly grid position not much else happens on track .. For me, Rossi mania is the only thing thats keepig the crowds there, fug knows what will happen when he retires :dunno:

All the people who know chuff all about racing will stay at home? The real fans will stay but I fear they are in the minority....

What I saw at Assen reminded me of footie here, folks who only support a team because it wins.

Agreed Tina has brought people to racing, but an awful lot are just there to see him win.

What was the best race of the day at Assen? Probably the RedBull Rookies and how many stayed to watch..... nope they preferred to go sit in a traffic jam....

:bang:

What will bring the punters in is if we get close racing, where at least 4 or 5 riders can feasibly win on a regular basis. WSB has, on occasion, done that recently, maybe we need some controling factor in MotoGP?

:dunno:

Imagine if we had Tina, Stoner, Melandri, Hopper, Pedrosa all battling it out at every track, all capable of winning, rather than what was the Tina show and what may become the Stoner show.

Personally I think Tina has the personality of a wet fish but some people seem to like him.....

w;;v

Stoner would appear to be a nice clean cut boy but very boring....

Maybe the powers that be will see the writing on the wall before Tina goes, let's hope so....

...Life will go on, M8...same as it always has. I've wanted to see Bill Ivy win (remember when Phil Read nicked the title off him, despite their "agreement"?) I've wanted Hailwood and Agostini to win, in different eras - and so it goes on.

We're all the same - we love bikes - bikes racing - and the lads who can race successfully.

...When Rossi's gone, someone else will come along but the racing will still be the same for those who follow.

This isn't sentimentality - for me, it's just a fact of life.

...If you LOVE it - if you know something about it - if you've tried it - you know what we (not "I") mean.

Keep it goin'. :yo:

Hope so Eric... But I cant help remembering not all that far back.. ie 1999/2000/ 2001 there were only 15 thousand watching at Donni and it wasnt raining for once lol.. Then Valli came along and its now 90+ thousand ..

I know it wont alter but I hate the F1 technology thats taking over our sport :bang:

Takes away the rider skill advantage, makes it too expensive for most teams to compete and it brings in the coorperate bollox that partition off 3 parts of the viewing area around the tracks and the genuine fans cant get a lookin...:bang:

going for a lie down and a Leffe cos I can feel a soapbox comming on lol

Is the Suzook 8 hour on eurosport do we know ????

c'mon JT

I know what your saying fella's and yes I do agree with DG but my point being the number of fans will probably drop again like they did post King Kenny etc and pre Rossi .. even tho the racing lived to fight another day the number of fans trackside reduced dramatically...

can you get Leffe Blonde in Asda :p

But surely for us, the enthusiasts, the show will go on....

Albeit there may be less money in it for the riders, but I doubt that they do it for the money, so they'll still race and we'll still get to watch em
